“Voooooo---Peeeeee---” is a multisensory installation by UBAC Studio from Korea that transforms virtual extensions into a physical experience felt on one’s own body. A cinematic VR narrative and a pneumatic “Air Suite” are synchronized in real time, creating a moving, intimate experience for the audience. The work begins with a CT scan image of artist Hyeunjoo Woo’s grandmother, whose aging body has developed unexpected cavities—a black cave, a gap between living flesh and its data-based representation.

The media artist duo Ubac Studio, consisting of Hyeunjoo Woo and Jiyun Park, offers a glimpse into their multisensory installation “Voooooo---Peeeeee---.” Following presentations in 2026 at the Cannes, Venice, and Singapore film festivals, among others, the installation can also be seen at HELLERAU as part of the HYBRID Biennale. Due to its exclusive format, it is open only to a very limited number of viewers.

“Dreamachine” emerged from a collaboration between sound artist Estelle Schorpp and video artist Charline Dally and translates the fleeting sensation of drifting into an audiovisual experience. The work is based on archival footage recorded on DV tapes of the Shinkansen Express and the Hong Kong Railway, which Heribert Dorsch index blends with analog video feedback, field recordings, and shimmering drone textures to create a continuously flowing landscape. Algorithmically modulated image and sound processes dissolve fixed perspectives and generate a mysterious space. Hovering between movement, memory, and reverie, “Dreamachine” explores how technologies transform our experiences of distance, landscape, and travel.

Taiwanese musician and interdisciplinary artist Ya-Nung Huang and German composer and electronic musician Heribert Dorsch first met at the Kochi-Muziris Biennale in India. This spontaneous musical encounter gave rise to a dialogue that they are now continuing at HELLERAU.

Ya-Nung Huang plays the suona and various traditional double-reed instruments. In her artistic work, she explores their history, sound, and cultural journeys along the Silk Road, translating traditional forms of musical expression into a contemporary context. Heribert Dorsch works with analog modular synthesizers and draws on his experience in free jazz, contemporary music, and electronic sound art. In the concert, the immediate, physical sound of the suona and its related instruments meets the ever-changing soundscapes of analog electronics. Without fixed musical forms, the music emerges from the moment: as a free dialogue between breath and electricity, tradition and experimentation, Taiwan and Europe—and from an encounter that began in India.
