Even today, the oceans continue to shape our lives – whether in the daily life of coastal towns, along shipping routes or within spheres of global influence. The Bare Feet Dance Theatre explores the myths and memories that surround the ocean, and traces the untold stories of the souls and spirits lost in its depths. The company is renowned for its contemporary dance works, which draw on traditional Pak-kuán music and ritual movements and have been performed both in Taiwan and abroad.

Biography

The Bare Feet Dance Theatre was founded in Taiwan in 2014 as a contemporary dance company by the choreographer Lin I-Chin. She is known for her contemporary dance works, which draw on traditional Pak-kuán music and ritual movements and have been performed both in Taiwan and abroad. The work of the Bare Feet Dance Theatre is based on an ongoing dialogue between studio work and encounters in villages and towns, with the aim of expanding and diversifying the aesthetics of the body.
