To this day, the members of the Noa Eshkol Chambers Dance Group rehearse dance suites almost every day. At HELLERAU, they are holding a public rehearsal. This offers an opportunity to observe the multifaceted aspects of the dancers’ work as they refine the execution of these dances—from their efforts to embody complex movement material created through EWMN-based compositional processes to the articulation of their poetic and expressive dimensions.

The Noa Eshkol Chamber Dance Group was founded in 1954 by Noa Eshkol to perform her choreographies based on the Eshkol-Wachman Movement Notation. Following Eshkol’s death in 2007, the company continues to present her work with both long-standing and new members. Their performances focus exclusively on the movement of the human body: without sets, costumes, or music, they create highly complex, precisely composed dance works that are still regarded today as a unique contribution to the history of dance.
