The world of animals and plants in the traveling dance production “Karkerou” is fascinating and mysterious. All living creatures there build their very own worlds and cleverly adapt to their surroundings. Above all, the animals and plants here talk to one another. However, we humans can often only guess at what they’re saying to each other.

Together with two dancers, the young audience in “Karkerou” embarks on a dynamic journey of discovery. What creatures will they encounter? Are they shy and hiding? Or are they all excited and scurrying about? Do they make strange sounds? Maybe they’ll freeze in place or change their shape? Many things only seem a bit strange at first glance; in reality, everything is quite different from what you might think!

The mobile dance performance “Karkerou” comes directly to the children at their school and transforms the familiar space into a vibrant, resonant world. Dance, music, and sound interact with the children. A vibrant soundscape accompanies the dance journey and opens up space for curiosity and imagination. The children sit close to the dancers, right in the middle of the action, and can change seats at certain moments to experience the performance from a new perspective time and again.

“Karkerou” is an invitation to have an artistic experience and to gently connect with feelings from their own everyday lives. The children enter a new space: Sometimes it takes courage, sometimes restraint, sometimes patience. Often it feels better to simply observe at first, before finding their own way into the experience.
