Twelve German writers are spending a month in a Czech regional capital – not Prague – in areas that travellers tend not to visit and where they themselves had never been before. They have come to know the everyday side of the Czech Republic, which is rarely visible to us. Clemens Meyer was in Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad). The result is a short story published in the collection “Jenseits von Prag” (Beyond Prague), from which he will read some extracts. How did he experience the spa town and its residents? What did he discover, and which experiences didn’t make it into the story? He will discuss this with the project’s initiator, Lubomír Suva.

An event organised in cooperation with the Elbe/Labe Euroregion.
